Access Medical

Access Medical Labs is a full-service specialty diagnostic laboratory based in Jupiter, Florida, providing blood, saliva, and urine testing for healthcare practices nationwide, with results typically returned within 24 hours.

Overview

Access Medical Labs is a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited diagnostic laboratory headquartered at 5151 Corporate Way, Jupiter, FL 33458. Operating since 2003, the lab serves private practices, hospitals, and research institutions across the country from a highly automated facility.

Access offers both routine and specialty testing, including comprehensive metabolic panels, CBC, lipid panels, and vitamin levels, alongside advanced hormone profiles, food sensitivity (IgG) and environmental allergy (IgE) testing, cardiovascular panels, STD testing, and heavy metal analysis.

The lab is known for its turnaround time and draw experience. Automation allows Access to run its panels on roughly half the blood volume of a typical draw, and results are generally released within 24 hours of specimen receipt. Specimen supplies and courier transportation are provided to partner practices at no cost, with in-office or in-home phlebotomy options available.

Drawing Options

Access Medical Labs supports three ways to collect a patient specimen. All three run through the same lab and return results to the ordering provider the same way, so the choice comes down to patient convenience and what the panel requires.

In-Office Draws

The standard option for practices with phlebotomy capability on site. Access supplies all collection materials — tubes, needles, requisitions, and shipping boxes — at no cost to the practice, and a courier picks up specimens on a scheduled daily route. Staff draw the specimen, centrifuge and pack it, and hand it off at pickup. Because Access's automation requires roughly half the blood volume of a typical draw, in-office collection is faster and easier on the patient than a conventional venipuncture. Results are generally released within 24 hours of the lab receiving the specimen.

In-office draws support the full Access test menu, including panels that can't be run from a capillary sample.

Mobile Phlebotomy

For patients who can't come into the office — limited mobility, distance, scheduling conflicts, or telehealth-only relationships — a phlebotomist travels to the patient's home or workplace to perform the draw. The provider orders the panel as usual and the draw is scheduled directly with the patient.

Mobile phlebotomy gives you the same full test menu as an in-office draw without requiring the patient to travel, which makes it the best fit for comprehensive panels on patients you'd otherwise lose to a no-show. Availability and scheduling lead time vary by geography.

At-Home Test Kits (BioBox)

Fully patient-collected, with no phlebotomist involved. The provider orders the panel, a BioBox kit ships to the patient's home via FedEx 2-Day Air, and the patient collects the sample themselves using an FDA 510(k)-cleared, single-use, vacuum-assisted collection device. The device draws a capillary whole blood sample of less than 1 mL and is reported to be more comfortable than a finger stick or standard venipuncture.

The patient repacks the sample in the same box and returns it via the included FedEx Next-Day Air label the same day they collect, Monday through Thursday. Results reach the provider within 24 to 48 hours of lab receipt.

BioBox supports over 25 pre-built panels covering hormone replacement, thyroid, cardiac, inflammation, weight management, and men's and women's health. It's the right choice for routine monitoring and recheck visits — post-treatment hormone follow-ups in particular — where the panel is available as a BioBox kit and the patient doesn't need to be seen in person.

At Home Test Kits (BioBox)

BioBox is Access Medical Labs' at-home testing solution for patients who can't easily get to a draw site. The provider orders the panel, and a kit ships directly to the patient's home via FedEx 2-Day Air.

How it works — Click. Collect. Send.

  1. The kit arrives at the patient's home with everything needed for collection.

  2. The patient applies the single-use collection device, which uses a gentle vacuum-assisted lancet to draw a microliter capillary whole blood sample — less than 1 mL. The device is FDA 510(k)-cleared, and patients in testing reported less discomfort than with a standard venipuncture or finger stick.

  3. The patient packs the sample back in the same box and ships it via the included FedEx Next-Day Air label, the same day of collection (Monday–Thursday).

Results are released to the ordering provider within 24–48 hours of the lab receiving the sample.
