Why Keeping Consents Updated Matters
Consent forms - such as for treatment or release of health information - protect both patients and your organization. Timely collection of consents ensures care isn’t delayed and regulatory standards are met.
How to Access and Use the Consents Section
1. Navigating to Consents
Go to the Patients module from the top menu.
Select the desired patient to access their profile.
Use the left sidebar to select Consents.
2. Viewing Existing Consents
All previously requested consents for the patient will appear in this section.
Each consent entry displays:
Consent Type (e.g., “Consent for GLP-1 RA Treatment”)
Date requested
Status (e.g., pending, active, rejected)
To view a consent’s details or signed form:
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) beside the consent.
Select View.
3. Creating a New Consent Request
Click the Create new consent button (bottom right).
In the “Request new consent” window, select one or more required forms (e.g., Medical Records Release Form, Patient Consent for Treatment).
Click Accept.
The system will automatically send the consent(s) to the patient for electronic signature.
4. About Patient Signatures with HelloSign
When a consent is requested, the patient receives a secure email link to sign the form via HelloSign.
HelloSign is legally compliant and encrypted.
Patients can sign from any device—no account is needed.
Once signed, the document is returned and attached to the patient’s record in the EHR.
